Monday Morning Music-“At The Cross” by Chris Tomlin

As prolific as Chris Tomlin is, it’s no surprise that he’s still putting out new music. I’m just getting around to listening to his newest cd (the past two weeks have been filled with midterms and papers here in seminary-land haha) but this is one of the singles from the cd that’s been out for a while. Enjoy!

The key to missions isn’t just that it reflects the heart of God: it’s that missions reflects who he is.

Missions begins not with the command of God but with the being of God. God is missional in nature and in every aspect of the trinity.

The Father establishes mission.

The Son embodies mission.

The Spirit empowers mission.

Monday Morning Music-“The Stand” remixed by Hillsong Young & Free

The song itself is a Stand-ard (sorry, couldn’t help myself) of the contemporary style of worship but this version is an updated and electronic-influenced take on it by Hillsong’s newest group: Young & Free. What do you think? Do you like it? Hate it? Is the “traditional” version better??

Do what to my whatnow?

Ever wondered what some translations of the Bible mean when they refer to girding up your loins? (Like in Job 38:3 in the NASB where God says:”Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!”)

Well wonder no longer!

Applying the Word Step by Step

” 11 when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God at the place that he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12 Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law, 13 and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.”

-Deuteronomy 31:11-13 (ESV)
